Of all the wines in the world, Burgundy is undisputedly one of the most exclusive and expensive wines. Napoleon laws have resulted in the most fragmented vineyards. It requires 4-5 acre to produce one burgundy barrel. Many producers have less than this minimum and would sell their grapes or buy grapes to obtain production scale. Quality varies significantly when grapes come from the same vineyard. The knowledge of producers, vineyards, and vintages are critical in finding quality for investment.
We carry both “blue chips” producers as well as rising stars. There are many well-known names, for example, Romanée Conti, Leroy, de Vogue, Coche Dury, Comtes Lafon, and Armand Rousseau. To see some of our favorite up and rising producers, click here.
